The Return of the Easter Bunny

Tommy made his annual visit to the Easter Bunny. He brought along his sister for back-up. The visit went well overall, but Tommy was a little unsure of the bunny. There was a smile captured on camera, but unfortunately his "back-up" had slid off of the bunny's lap and we were unable to see her face. So, the picture that was purchased for about half of Tommy's life savings is the one above. Thankfully, the visit with the bunny only comes once a year!

In other news, little sister Piper got her ears pierced today. Not only did she have to endure the big white rabbit, but she received two new holes in her head. She is doing well, but not before some tears were shed! It was one of her first lessons in how being beautiful can be painful. Fortunately for her, the pain is only temporary!

Tommy and the Triplets

On Tuesday Tommy's Mommy watched the neighborhood triplets, Emily, Alex & Nicholas. They will be three in May, so they are just a little older than Tommy. Tommy was a little intimidated by the crowd at first, but he adjusted very well. Mommy was also a little intimidated, but other than trashing the house, they were harmless. Mommy was able to get them together and calm for a few minutes while Dora the Explorer was on. After that, the chaos resumed. Tommy enjoyed having his friends over, but he was also happy to see them leave so he could have his toys back! Piper spent a lot of time in her bouncer or napping. She couldn't handle the craziness!

All in all it went well. Mommy thank's God that there is only one of Tommy and not three!!! Tommy is all Mommy can handle!

Invasion of the Baby Sister!!!

It has been many months since Tommy's Mommy has been able to write about Tommy. It has been a VERY eventful 6 months. On October 17th, 2006, Tommy's Mommy gave birth to Tommy's baby sister, Piper Christianne. Tommy was very excited to have his Nunny & Poppy visit and have Grandma and Grandp watch him for a few days. Everything was great until Tommy realized that the baby that Mommy brought home was here to stay. Piper took up a lot of Mommy's attention, and Tommy took up hitting and pinching Piper. Fortunately his new pasttime was short-lived. Piper is greatful as well! That's not to say she never gets smacked on the head or an occasional pinch, but she's keeping track for the future. Piper is going to give Tommy a run for his money!

Since the last entry was made, Tommy has grown so much. He is quite the talker. He speaks in full, mostly coherent sentences. He has manners - always saying "welcome" (even when he means "thank you"). He loves to make messes and throw things. He enjoys making calls on Daddy's cell phone. Tommy has also found some TV shows he must watch daily. He must watch Elmo's World (the second half hour of Sesame Street), Calliou (an annoying cartoon about a bald-headed 4 year old boy), Clifford and Curious George. Mommy has brought him on several playdates, but Tommy is not always into playing with the other kids. He likes to do his own thing. Every once in a while he finds a buddy and he'll play for hours, but most other times he just likes to walk up and down the stairs and talk to the other mommies. Oh, and he loves to eat their food!

Tommy eats very well. His favorite foods are vegetables (any kind), fruit (any kind), bread and butter, chicken nuggets, hot dogs, spaghetti, rice krispies, scrambled eggs, pancakes and waffles, fruit snacks, pretzels, and chocolate milk. He also enjoys jello, ice cream, cookies and brownies. He has also discovered that he likes root beer. He does not like potatoes of any kind, and he won't eat beef or pork, although he will eat ground meat. There really isn't much he doesn't like, but when he finds something that he does not enjoy, be sure that he will spit out the chewed food back onto his plate or into your hand.

Tommy has a bedtime ritual. After his bath, he brushes his teeth and heads into his room. He turns on his music, turns on his penguin humidifier, and climbs into bed. Daddy will read him several stories then put the books in bed. Then Daddy catches all the invisible bugs in the room. He will yell for Mommy because he needs kisses and hugs, then he is ready for bed. He sleeps with a variety of stuffed animals and sometimes he requests that the fan is turned on. Then, with a lot of luck, Tommy goes to sleep.

So, that is Tommy today. Hopefully Tommy's Mommy will be able to update the blog on a regular basis. Tommy has lots of adventures now that Mommy is home. Getting the time to write about them is another story!!!
